The flexible air duct with a diameter of 100 to 250 mm (4–10 inch) and length of 1 to 10 m is used as a connection to ventilation systems such as extractor hoods, residential ventilation or air conditioning systems. The flexible air duct consists of a micro-perforated, polyester-laminated aluminium foil, reinforced with a spring spiral made of carbon steel. For easier handling, the ducts are supplied in a compressed state at approx. 4% of their length. The flexible air duct is suitable for temperatures from -30 °C to 150 °C, with a velocity of 25 m/s and a pressure of 2000 Pa.
