Seed Phrase Steel keeps your recovery phrase on 316 stainless steel instead of paper. No electronics, no battery, no software — and therefore nothing that can fail.
Why paper is not enough
A paper recovery sheet can burn, fade, tear, get wet or be thrown away by mistake. That phrase is the only way back into your wallet — it should outlast the rest of your household, not the other way around.
316 stainless steel
The plate is made from 316 stainless steel, described by ELLIPAL as aviation grade. It holds up against impact and pressure, resists water, and stays readable up to 1,454 degrees Celsius. The lettering also remains legible under water.
Four letters per word are enough
Unscrew the cover plate, slide in the first four letters of each word as tiles, then screw the plate back on.
Four letters are sufficient because every word in the BIP39 word list is already unique after its first four letters. That makes setup fast and reduces the number of possible mistakes.
Capacity and compatibility
The plate holds up to 24 words, or alternatively two separate 12-word phrases. That covers wallets using 12, 15, 18, 21 or 24 words.
It works with any wallet following the BIP39 standard — ELLIPAL devices as well as MetaMask, Ledger, Trezor, Trust Wallet and many others.
Stays completely offline
Seed Phrase Steel connects to nothing: no internet, no app, no device. It is a purely physical backup of your recovery phrase — no account, no password, no battery and no software that would need updating.
The format is small enough for a safe or a bank deposit box.

FAQ
Why only four letters per word?
Every word in the BIP39 word list is unique after its first four letters. Your wallet fills in the rest.
Does it fit my wallet?
Yes, as long as the wallet follows the BIP39 standard. That includes ELLIPAL devices, MetaMask, Ledger, Trezor, Trust Wallet and many others.
Can I back up two wallets?
Yes, if both use 12 words. The plate holds either one phrase of up to 24 words or two of 12 words each.
Does it need power or software?
No. It contains no electronics and connects to nothing.
What is included?
This version consists of one plate. To keep the phrase in two separate places, simply combine two units.
